Skin Fades

A skin fade starts at bare skin and works up to whatever length you keep on top. The barber maps the fade to the shape of your head first, then climbs through the guards in tight, even passes so the blend has no steps or shadows. The baseline gets finished with a straight razor for a clean edge that holds its line.

Fades grow out quickly, so most people sit down every two to three weeks to keep the blend fresh. Say how high and how tight you want it and check the mirror before the finish — a good fade should look intentional from every angle, not just the front.
